Who is Michael Murphy, and what qualifies him to do any of these things?
Michael grew up on the banks of the Seneca River in upstate New York. He lived in an extended family with grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousins as well as his own parents and sisters. Grandfather was very proud of his Native American heritage and was happy to share this with his grandchildren. At the time, the only one who was receptive was Michael's sister, Raven. Michael was more interested in science. Before he died, grandfather predicted that Michael would learn about his native shamanic heritage when he was much older and from other people. That prediction was fulfilled.
 Inkan Shamanic Healing:
- Studied with Alberto Villoldo's Healing the Light body school beginning in 2005
- Has practiced with clients since early 2005
- Studied luminous healing and extraction with Jamee Curtice
- Studied soul retrieval and divination with Lynn Berryhill
- Studied protective techniques with Bryan Osborn
- Studied sacred ceremony, tracking, and extraction with Jose Luis Herrera
- Certified in Inkan Shamanic Healing with specialization in Soul Retrieval in Spring 2007
- Traveled to Peru in Summer 2005 with Alberto Villoldo. Visited sacred sites and participated in ceremony with Q'ero shamans (descendants of the Inka)
Writing as a Sacred Practice seminar:
- BA in English and secondary education from SUNY
- MA in Professional Writing from Maharishi International University
- Taught writing, education, and multimedia authoring at Maharishi University of Management for nine years
- Developed the "ReVisioning Process" in 2003
